The Banner Ladies Gaelic Football Club is an independent Ladies Gaelic Football Club based in Ennis, Co. Clare, Ireland.
Founded in 1994 to serve the footballing needs of the girls and ladies from the Shanaway/Lahinch Road area's of Ennis Town the Club has since evolved to cater for the girls & ladies of all areas of Ennis and its environs.
On the playing field the Club has teams at all Underage, Junior and Senior grades. The Banner Ladies Club fields two teams at some age-groups.
The Banner Ladies Football Club has had many successes down through the years & has won every grade of Clare Ladies Football title. In 2008 the Club won the Clare Ladies Senior Football League & Championship for the first time in its history and repeated this feat in 2009. The Banner Ladies were Championship & League fianalists again in 2010 and regained the senior Championship title again in 2011.
Nationally The Banner Ladies Club has been All Ireland Féile Division Two Champions in both 2001 and 2005. In 2006 the Club succeeded in winning the National All Ireland Division One Féile Championship as well as the 2006 All Ireland U-14 Club Sevens Championship. In 2006 also our Senior Ladies won the Tír Chonaill Gaels London International Club Nine A Side Tournament and in 2010 the Seniors captured the prestigious Intermediate Sevens All-Ireland Title in 2010.
The Banner Ladies Football Club has developed into a valuable social, sporting and cultural asset for the girls and ladies of Ennis and its environs. The Club participates annually in the Ennis Fleadh Nua and Ennis St. Patrick's Day Parades and has been honoured with several civic accolades from The Ennis Town Council.
Fielding eight teams the Club plays its home games at the Banner GAA pitch on the Shanaway Road, just off the Lahinch road and before the Woodstock Hotel. The Banner Ladies also use the indoor facilities at Coláiste Mhuire and the all-weather pitch at the Lee's Road amenity for their winter training.
The Banner Ladies' Club colours are the Saffron & Blue of Contae an Chláir and all associated with The Banner Ladies Football Club wear these colours with pride and distinction.
The Banner Ladies Club is also proud of its contribution towards the promotion of the Irish Language in Club activities. Cloisfear Gaeilge á úsáid go rialta in imeachtaí ár gClub. Tá dlúth-cheangal idir an Chlub agus Gaelscoil Uí Chíosóig in Inis agus tá scata baill dár chlub líofa inár theanga dhúchais. Déanann gach ball dár gClub gach iarracht chun an teanga náisiúnta a chuir chun chinn in imeachtaí peile agus sócialta an Chumann.
