Clare 5-21 Kilkenny 0-4(2009 Allianz NFL)

Date: 15 Mar 2009
Time: 2.30pm
Venue: Cusack Park, Ennis
Clare were the latest side in the NFL to inflict a heavy defeat on Kilkenny as they ran out 32-point winners in front of less than 100 spectators at Cusack Park yesterday.

The game's first score came after three minutes when David Tubridy, who went on to record 2-6 over the 70 minutes, struck in Clare's first goal, paving the way for a 1-9 to 0-0 lead at the break.

In contrast, it took 52 minutes for the visitors to get off the mark, but another goal from Tubridy within a minute of the restart and more majors from Cathal O'Connor, Timmy Ryan and Gary Brennan put them way out of sight.

The result means Clare have leaped over Carlow in the Division Four and joined Wicklow on four points in the middle of the table.
