This final score really flattered Mayo as Clare put up a battling performance in Cooraclare but ran out of steam in the final fifteen minutes.
Hugely impressive for Clare were Eithne Morrissey, Eimear Considine, Siobhán Lafferty, Niamh Keane and Michelle Delaney.
The score was just 1-5 to 1-6 in favour of Mayo approaching forty minutes but then a Cora Staunton goal put mayo in the driving seat. In fairness Cora was given a tough afternoon by Lorraine Kelly and Lorraine was not daunted by taking on the multiple All Star winner and probably the best footballer the ladies game has seen to date.
